Teaching and mentoring young people about life as well as giving them profound knowledge about the game of basketball. Sharing the game of basketball is very important because people shared with me when I was young. The thrill and rewards of working with young players is not measurable. I was introduced to the basic fundamentals of basketball in the seventh grade and recognized later on the advantages I had playing against players my age and size. I was very fortunate to have had a coach who taught fundamentals before he was concerned about winning a basketball game. Young players deserve to be taught basics before winning is key.

The game of basketball has increasingly become a means to pay for
higher education. The sheer number of boys and girls playing and
competing for the few scholarships available require better instruction
starting at an earlier age. The evaluation of a player/kid in a basketball
sense will be vital in providing him/her with good basic fundamentals.
One of the biggest challenges is the traditional age breakout for youth
basketball programs. Most programs and teams group players by age
or grade. Frequently, there is a wide variance in abilities among youth
in any given age group. With this in mind, our academy instruction
philosophy is based on ability/desire rather than age.
Players will be monitored for progress on a weekly basis to elevate training when skill levels have been passed. A players pace of improve cant be judged by the improvement of other players because skill level and learning rates are different. The curriculum is customized for the experience level of the players. There are many levels in the program, all with progressive skill challenges involving footwork, shooting techniques, positioning, conditioning, basketball IQ and team basketball concept.
End result? Improved player
Hopefully, we have given young minds more desire and techniques to assist him/her with fulfilling their basketball dreams and aspirations. With improved practice habits, skill development should continue for a life time. Raising a players basketball IQ expands his/her ability to adapt to the pressure his competitor will bring during competition. A player believing in his basketball knowledge instills confidence that is not easily shaken. Enjoy the basketball experience whether just exploring or desiring to be a professional.
